WHO ME?

With a desire to psychologically affect users through design, my dream has been to better one’s day-to-day or the big, scary moments in their life, as well as inspire and delight.

I became a designer in an effort to fuse together my two passions, psychology and art, into one meaningful career.  With a desire to psychologically affect users through design, my dream has been to better one's day-to-day or the big, scary moments in their life, as well as inspire and delight. How could I help office workers be more productive, collaborate more, and enjoy their workplace or provide a sense of comfort and connectedness for hospital patients? How could I

This desire has been a glowing ember inside me, quietly guiding me along my journey to better understand the human experience and our behavioral patterns. A journey that is coming full-circle as I search to push back into a sector where I can sink my teeth into designing everyday services that make someone's day a little brighter. Along the way, I was swept up by hospitality full-time, a fast-paced sector where I could focus on creating compelling designs and hone my skills on custom elements that users interact with. This eventually led to me working directly for a leading global hotel company, Hilton, in an effort to learn more about how a brand connects with its users and what sort of initiatives were happening behind the scenes to change the face of the industry. I wanted to be a part of the bigger picture where I could roll up my sleeves and make our hotels a better product. I also grew interest in the day-to-day needs and workflow of my team as I pushed my design skills into the digital world with our project management websites.

I've worked to optimize guest journeys throughout hotels from coast to coast, studying the basics of how we sleep, eat, groom, work, and connect. Currently I'm playing a larger role in identifying service touchpoints within hotel markets and restaurants, but in listening to that ember inside me, I'm working to guide my way back to my core beliefs - using design to help people lead better lives.
